The Digital Transformation Committee of the Association of Montenegrin Managers in cooperation with the Secretariat for Economy of the Municipality of Pljevlja held today (19 July 2019) a workshop “Digital Transformation – Now or Immediately” at the Franca hotel in Pljevlja.
An exceptionally visited workshop was attended by representatives of the Municipality of Pljevlja, local companies and institutions, as well as businessmen from Pljevlja.

In his welcome speech, the President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Mr. Igor Golubovic, emphasized that the process of digital transformation is unstoppable and that this area is the most challenging, but also the one that promises most. He accentuated that it is necessary for this process to be quality monitored and to give our best in order to fulfill the ultimate goal, which is a modern local self-government in the service of citizens, businesses entities and organizations.
“By co-organizing this event and planning the next in this spirit, the municipal government wants to show that the digital transformation of local self-government is one of the important goals, but also to encourage and initiate other relevant economic and social factors to launch this process on their own, so that everyone understands that IT is not an expense but an investment in creating an efficient, cheap and competitive business environment” – President Golubović pointed out.
President of the Assembly of the Association of Montenegrin Managers, Mr. Slavoljub Popadić, emphasized the importance of digital transformation as a change in the way of work and its optimization towards digital channels. “Every change is a both risk and a chance. It is the chance if the changes are done in a timely and proper manner, and the risk if it does not work. To make the change successful, it has to be supported by those who need to bring it, and those are essentially decision-makers. That is why there is body within the AMM that deals with digitization – the Digital Transformation Committee.” – Mr. Popadić said.
The Secretary of the Secretariat for Economy of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Mr. Budimir Bajčetić, said that digital transformation is necessary for the reorganization ie improvement of business processes and the existence of business with the help of all available digital tools and technologies.
The workshop was led by eminent experts in this field from Montenegro.
President of the Digital Transformation Committee Mr. Vladan Tabaš explained to the audience the meaning, significance and philosophy of the Digital Transformation and said that the people are the key for implementation of this process, not the technology. “Digital transformation cannot overcome the economic and social gap, but its application can speed up its reduction.” – Mr. Tabaš emphasized.
Vice President of the above-mentioned Committee Mr. Stevan Ljumović, gave a review of the process of digital transformation in the world and in our country and pointed out that transformation is a culturally, sociologically and technologically very complex process and in order to implement its processes, we have to start from the leader – from the one who makes and implements the decisions.
Security expert, CTO Čikom Mr. Dragoslav Kenjić reminded that the digital transformation, in addition to inevitability of implementation and benefits, also brings risks that we need to be aware of and with which we have to deal with.
