AMM is collaborating on the USAID project called Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth Project (EDGE) implemented by International Development Group LLC (IDG), is a 3 to 5-year regional activity in Europe and Eurasia (E&E) that aims to create inclusive, sustainable economic growth and to support intra-regional and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Given the considerable contribution of SMEs to the Western Balkans economy (99% of all firms, 65% of total business sector value-added and 73% of total business sector employment [OECD,2019] ), data-driven, sector-oriented and well-coordinated support to the small-businesses will be important to get to grip with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
USAID Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth (EDGE) is conducting COVID-19 Impact Assessment on SMEs in the following value chains: 1. Fruits and Vegetables; 2. Tourism; 3. Light Manufacturing; 4.ICT. The research project is implementing by ACT Global.
Their team aims at reaching out a considerable number of SMEs in Montenegro and receiving feedback to ensure quality research outputs to feed into the USAID assistance programmes at country level.
